Benjamin G “The Queen’s Gambit” is one of my favorite miniseries of all time and one of Netflix’s best productions. I know several people who literally started taking chess up after the series aired, myself included, until I started to realize just how much of it is a sport of memorization more than anything else (I’ll stick to golf instead).I can see where some might find its storyline somewhat dreary, but really, they do a great job of keeping it fun and upbeat while maintaining excellent realism. The scoring behind the cinematography is perhaps one of its greatest strengths, creating an air of intrigue throughout. Perhaps what I find most enjoyable about the series is watching Anya Taylor Joy’s character build her life through fascinating trials and tribulations.She’s a fighter and a winner and shows what it takes to get to that next level that few will ever ascertain.
